Front suspension tie plate - this is a bolt on steel plate between the two front wheels on the very bottom of the car. It's the plate that keeps the wheels from spreading apart under load. It's flat, about 20" long, maybe 14" wide and about 3/16" thick with weight reduction holes cut into it. It is held on with (4) 1/2" dia. bolts and easily removed once the car is raiosed up. The Special Six has a straight six, overhead valve engine with 3 speed transmission (+ reverse). Engine runs well but has not been started for several years. It has been partially restored with new wood in roof, side panels and door posts. Doors have been realigned and operate well. The car has been in storage for the last 25 years and is nearly complete. Comes with all window glass except the rear window. All window mechanisms function properly. Sheet metal is very straight with the exception of minor dents on two fenders that can be easily restored. No heavy rust or rust through (surface rust only). Carburetor is not original but is a same era Carter up-draft carburetor. This model comes with Bellcrank bumpers. Car has 43,750 original miles.
